VidyaCopilot A helping hand for teachers

For Indian school teachers · Android early version

A quick question between lessons? Ask your teaching assistant.

Type your question about a school topic, or say it into the microphone. VIDYA Copilot gives a reply you can read or hear aloud. You check it and decide whether to use it in your lesson.

  • AI runs on the phone
  • Choose whether to hear replies aloud
  • Hindi, Marathi and English settings
The app uses what its AI has learned, so replies need checking. Voice may need internet unless your phone has the right files to listen and speak in your language.

The current teacher app is called VIDYA Shikshak.

A familiar situation

A school day leaves little room for complicated tools.

You may be revisiting a topic before class, checking an explanation between lessons or working in a quiet staffroom.

VIDYA Copilot gives you a simple place to ask one question at a time. Use your keyboard or microphone, then review the reply in the way that suits the moment.

7:40 · before the first period between classes quiet staffroom
The mascot settles in with a book: a reply is a starting point, the textbook stays the check.

See it work

From a typed or spoken question to a reply you can check.

The guided walkthrough steps through the flow a teacher uses: set the reply language and speaker, ask one question, read or hear the reply, then check it against your book.

  • Interface simulation, labelled as such. Real app recordings will replace it.
  • Shows the “Speak replies aloud” switch, the stop control and the memory warning.
  • Nothing is recorded or sent. The simulation runs in your browser.

What you are seeing

  1. Configure. Reply language: match the question, Hindi, Marathi or English. Speaker on or off.
  2. Ask. One complete question. Voice uses the phone's listening tool in the app.
  3. Reply. Written on the phone from what the AI has learned. The app has no internet permission.
  4. Read or listen. Speech can start before the reply is finished. Stop it any time.
  5. Review. The note under the reply says it came from memory, not your book.
Mascot and interface are simulations for this website. The app may show the name VIDYA Shikshak.

What it does now

Useful in the small moments of preparation.

Before a lesson

Revisit a school topic

Ask about a school topic the app can help with. Use the reply as a starting point, then check it.

On the move

Listen when convenient

Turn spoken replies on when listening is more practical than reading.

In the staffroom

Keep it quiet when needed

Switch spoken replies off in a staffroom or classroom where audio would disturb others.

Any time

Choose the reply language

Select Hindi, Marathi or English, or ask the app to match your question.

Note: Current work focuses especially on Classes 6–8 topics. Topic and language quality vary.

Is it for me?

Different people ask different first questions.

Pick the one closest to you.

“Will it help with the small questions in my day?”

Yes, for one question at a time. Type it or say it, read or hear the reply, then check it against your book before class. It is built for the gaps between lessons, not for running a class.

Reasons to choose it

Teacher control is part of the design.

Writes answers on the phone

The app writes replies on the Android phone itself. Android does not allow the app to connect to the internet.

Reminds you to check the reply

A note under the reply says it comes from the AI's memory, not your book. This reminds you to check it before use.

Fits the surroundings

Choose spoken replies or quiet reading. Stop speech when you need to interrupt.

Keeps the marking tool turned off for now

The tool that suggests marks is turned off in the regular app. It is not reliable enough yet.

The app can help. You still check and decide.

Simple process

Ask a question. Check the reply. Decide what to use.

1

Ask one question.

Type or tap the microphone. Voice availability depends on the phone.

2

Read or hear the reply.

Choose the reply-language setting and whether speech is on.

3

Check before using it.

Compare important facts with your textbook, notes or another reliable teaching book.

One question at a time. The app treats each one as new.

Trust

Clear about its limits from the first reply.

VIDYA Copilot can give wrong or unclear replies. Marathi needs more work. It is also less reliable on topics the AI has not learned well.

The regular teacher app does not look in your textbook before replying. It cannot currently suggest marks or read handwritten answer papers for everyday use.

Every replycarries the note “Answered from memory, not from your book — worth checking.”
About 1 in 10replies were hard to make sense of in one reported phone test of the newer version. Worse on unfamiliar topics.
Marathireplies needed the most improvement in the reported tests.
Turned offtextbook facts, suggested marks, handwritten-paper reading, class study reports.
